THE MAKING OF A LEADER
Hebrews 12:5-11
How Does YHWH Correct Us?
INTRODUCTION: One of the greatest hindrances in ministering
healing is the concept that this may be YHWHs chastening for some sin I have
committed.
I.
YHWH DOES
CHASTEN AND CORRECT HIS CHILDREN. What we
need to determine is the METHOD by which He does it.
A. ...the
exhortation which speaketh unto you as children...
(Mishlei (Proverbs) 3:11-12)
chastening: chastisement, reproof, warning, instruction
weary: to cut yourself off, sever
correction: chastisement by words (to refute; prove to be
wrong)
correcteth: (yakach) to be right (make right)
a. Yeshayahu
(Isaiah) 1:18 (reason: yakach)
B. What
to do with and not to do with YHWHs chastening.
1. Two
things NOT TO DO:
a. despise: make light of: disregard as insignificant
b. faint: quit, relax (as a sign of giving up)
2. Two
things TO DO:
a. endure: (hupomeno) patience to stay under, remain,
persevere
b. be
in subjection to: submit to (Yaakov
(James) 4:7)
*Whatever
correction comes from YHWH, we are to submit to it and not resist
it.
II. LUKE
9:51-56
A. Destroy: (apollumi) to destroy fully
B. Apolluon is from
the Greek work apollumi, and means
Destroyer. It is one of
Satans names - Apollyon.
1. Revelation
9:11
2. Yochanan
(John) 10:10
III. HOW DOES
YHWH CORRECT,
REBUKE AND CHASTEN HIS
CHILDREN?
A. II Timothy
3:15-17 (Amp), And how from your childhood
you have had a knowledge of and been acquainted with the sacred writings which are able to
instruct you and give you the understanding for salvation which comes through faith in
Mashiach Yeshua (that is, through the leaning of the entire human personality on
YHWH
in Mashiach Yeshua in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom and
goodness). Every Scripture is
YHWH-breathed -
given by His inspiration - and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of
sin, for correction of error and discipline in
obedience, and for training in righteousness (that is, in holy living, in conformity to
YHWHs will in thought, purpose and action), so that the man of YHWH may be complete
and proficient, well-fitted and throughly equipped for every good work.
