            From Teknon to Mathetes to Huios

A.        Teknon  sons - a child as produced, young, newborn (bring them up - Ephesians 6:4)  Yochanan (John) 1:12; 1 Yochanan (1 John) 3:1,2; Ephesians 6:1,4

            B.        Mathetes (math-ay-tes’):  disciple, a pupil, student, learner

                        1.         add to yourselves - 2 Kefa (II Peter) 1:5-11

            C.        Huios:  son, kinship, mature, fully grown, heir

II.          THE DEVELOPMENT OF A MINISTRY -- Tehillim (Psalm) 92:12,13

            From Huios to Doulos (doo’-los)

            A.        The Servant’s Position:  Subservient

1.         Minister:  diakonos - to run errands, waiter at tables (trans: deacon, minister, servant)

2.         Ministered:  diakoneo - to wait upon tables, to be an attendant, work

B.        The Servant’s Role:  Decrease -- Yochanan (John) 3:30

            1.         “Even as the Son”  - Mattityahu (Matthew) 20:28

            2.         Emptied Him “Self” - Philippians 2:5-9

C.        The Servant’s Life:  I Must Die

            1.         Follow Me - Yochanan (John) 12:24-26

            2.         Psuche to Zoe - Yochanan (John) 12:24,25

            3.         Lose your life - Mattityahu (Matthew) 16:24,25

III.       THE HIRELING AND NOVICE -- Yechezk’el (Ezekiel) 34
