“Teknon (Tek’-non)”
A child, a child of YHWH

NATURAL AND SPIRITUAL CHARACTERISTICS:

Must imitate YHWH. Ephesians 5:1

“Be ye, therefore, followers of YHWH, as dear children:”

Must submit to parents.  Luke 2:5, Ephesians 6:1-2

Ephesians 6:1-2

Are Obedient.  Philippians 2:2, 1 Kefa (I Peter) 1:14

“As obedient children, not fashioning themselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance;”  1 Kefa (I Peter) 1:14

Have a Spiritual Father.  Galatians 4:15, I Timothy 1:2, Titus 1:4

“Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith:  grace, mercy and peace, from YHWH our Father and Yeshua HaMashiach our L-rd.”  I Timothy 1:2

Needs Father’s Encouragement.  I Timothy 1:18-19,   I Timothy 4:13,

II Timothy 1:6-7, II Timothy 3:15, 1 Yochanan (1 John) 4:4   “This charge I commit unto thee, Son Timothy, according to the Prophecies which went before on thee that thou by them mightest war a Good Warfare;”  I timothy 1:18

Needs Father’s Warnings.  II Corinthians 6:14-16, I Timothy 6:11,

Challenge Authority.  Mark 8:32

Needs correction.  Mark 8:32-33

“...And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.  vs 33.  “But when he had turned about and looked on His disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, ‘Get thee behind me, Satan; for thou savourest not the things that be of YHWH, but the things that be of men.”

Don’t always demonstrate Yeshua-likeness!  Galatians 419

“My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Mashiach be formed in you.”

Are not fully mature.  1 Yochanan (1 John) 3:2

“Beloved, now we are the sons of YHWH, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.”

Have ego and pride.  Luke 10:17, Luke 22:31-34

“And he said unto Him, L-rd, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.  vs.34.   And He said, ‘I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.’”  Luke 22:33-34

Become discouraged.  II Timothy 1:4

“Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy.”
