A young child of either sex, little, young, a half grown child, and immature Believer, a child in relation to descent.

NATURAL AND SPIRITUAL CHARACTERISTICS:

Begins to eat solid food!  Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) 28:9-13

“Whom shall he teach knowledge?  And whom shall he make to understand doctrine?  Them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. 

vs. 10.  “For precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little.”

Must grow spiritually, physically and mentally.  Luke 1:8, 2:40

“And the child grew, and waxed strong in Ruach/spirit, filled with wisdom:  and the grace of YHWH was upon him.”  Luke 2:40

Children know YHWH.  1 Yochanan (1 John) 2:13

“...I write unto you little children, because ye have known the Father.”

Must submit to YHWH’s Authority.  Mark 10:15, Luke 18:17

“Verily I say unto you, whatsoever shall not receive the kingdom of YHWH as a little child, he shall not enter therein.”  Mark 10:15

Is under tutors and governors.  Galatians 4:1-2

“Now I say, that the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be L-rd of all;  vs.2.  But is under tutors and Governors until the time appointed of the Father.”

Children have spiritual fathers.  I Corinthians 4:14-16

“For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Mashiach, yet have ye not many Fathers:  for in Mashiach Yeshua I have begotten you through the Gospel.” 

I Corinthians 4:15

Must submit to men’s authority.  Romans 13:1-2, Hebrews 13:7, 17

“Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves:   for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief:  for that is unprofitable for you.”  Hebrews 13:17

Children need knowledge and understanding.  I Corinthians 14:20

“Be not children in understanding; howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.”

Children learn the difference between good and evil.  1 Yochanan (1 John) 2:18

“Little children, it is the last time:  and as ye have heard that antimashiach shall come, even now are there many antimashiachs'; whereby we know that it is the last time.”

Children need instruction.  Mishlei (Proverbs) 1:8; 3:1; 4:1, 20; 5:1; 6:20; 7:1, 24; 8:32; 12:1; 13:1, 18; 15:20, 32; 17:2, 25; 19:27

“My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother.”  Mishlei (Proverbs) 1:8

Children profit from chastening.  Hebrews 12:5-11, Mishlei (Proverbs) 3:11-12

“...My son, despise not thou the chastening of the L-rd, nor faint when thou are rebuked of him; vs 6  “For whom the L-rd loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.   vs.10.  “For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but He for our profit that we might be partakers of His holiness  vs. 11  Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous; but grievous; nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.”

Children go fishing.  Yochanan (John) 21:3

“Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a-fishing.”

Children must be taught how to fish.  Yochanan (John) 21:5,6

“Then Yeshua saith unto them, ‘children have ye any meat?’  vs.6  “And He said unto them, ‘Cast the net on the right side of   the ship, and ye shall find.”
