INTRO:         AN ADROIT DEADLY ENEMY IS LOOSE IN THE BODY OF Mashiach. IT IS A THIEF TO YHWH’S GREATEST BLESSINGS.

I.          II Corinthians 5:7

            A.        Walk of Faith

1. Basic to all who Believe - Hebrews 10:38

2. Foundation for the new creation - Ephesians 2:8,9

3. Demands development inwardly

            B.        Walk by Sight (appearance)

1. Five senses (knowledge)

2. Depends upon hearing through outward influences

3. I Corinthians 2:14

II.         MENTAL ASSENT VS REAL HEART FAITH

            A.        Hebrews 11:1   AMP.

1. Real Bible faith is three things:

                                    a.         now

                                    b.         substance

                                    c.         evidence

2.   Faith is born from YHWH’s Word - Romans 10:17

            B.        Mental Assent

1. Born out of being sense ruled - (psuche)

2. Romans 12:1,2 - II Corinthians 3:5

3. Not a problem to the world but to Believers.  A treacherous counterfeit

III.       CHARACTERISTICS OF MENTAL ASSENT/SENSE RULED FAITH

            A.        Revealed in Confession - Mattityahu (Matthew) 12:34

1. Mental assent agrees, admires, admits but never receives.  The sense ruled mind does not settle down on the word and rest quietly.   It says YHWH’s Word is true and is willing to argue about the absolute integrity of it, yet it continually is repudiated in daily conduct.  People who are in mental assent agree every word in the Bible is true, that they believe every word of it, but when it comes to a crisis it doesn’t work.  They say, “It’s beautiful, I know I should have it.  For some reason I don’t get it.  I cannot understand it.”

2. “But” is a keynote in their vocabularies.

3. We know it contradicts real faith because Yeshua  said in Yochanan (John) 6:47, He that believeth hath...       

IV.       CHARACTERISTICS OF REAL BIBLE FAITH

1. Romans 4:19 - Considered not His own (Consider Hebrews 3:1; 12:3)

2. Yonah (Jonah) 2:8

3. Tehillim (Psalm) 112:6-8

4. Romans 10:10 - Real faith is of the heart/spirit (Faith is the result of the Word dwelling in us)

5. Faith says, “The only evidence I need is YHWH’s Word, to know that  He has spoken.   Faith asks for no other evidence than the written word of  YHWH.”  Real Bible faith trusts, believes, takes, receives, and gladly confesses “It’s mine, I have it now.”  It quietly rests in assurance.

V.        THE SECURING OF REAL BIBLE FAITH

1.  Mishlei (Proverbs) 4:20-22 - The Word is life to us

1.  Sustains, strengthens, gives quiet rest.  Continues to give faith.

2. Tests and trials.

1. Tehillim (Psalm) 34:19 - Many are the afflictions of the righteous...

2. If you are trusting in YHWH you are not trusting in anyone else.
